A grommet keeps cables and wires conveniently and centrally routed through the top of a desk. This circular device prevents them from falling, while protecting their jackets from grazing against rough surfaces. They come in either plastic or brushed metal and give a finished look to any desktop. Grommet caps can often be removed entirely to create wider access points for cables and wires to pass through — or be covered when not in use.
